Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20 1964. She is an American politician. She is also the first female vice president and the highest-ranking female official in the United America. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously was the attorney general for California from 2011 until 2017 and also as an United States senator representing California from 2017 to 2021. Harris was born in Oakland, California, Harris graduated from Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Harris started her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. She was then hired to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003, she became the San Francisco district attorney. She was elected Attorney General of California in 2010 and re-elected in 2014. Harris was the junior United States senator from California from 2017 until 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Martinez in 2016's Senate election, becoming the second African American woman and first South Asian American senator to be elected to the United States Senate. In her time as a senator, she pushed for healthcare reform, federal descheduling of cannabis, a pathway for immigrants who are not legal citizens, the DREAM Act and a ban on assault weapons. Harris also backed progressive tax reform. She was well-known for her direct questioning of Trump government officials during Senate hearings.
